At AKAP Care, our Development–Life Skills programs are designed to empower individuals with the practical skills and confidence needed to live more independently and participate fully in everyday life. Through structured sessions and one-on-one coaching, we support participants to develop essential abilities that promote autonomy, safety, and social connection.
Our approach focuses on building real-life skills that can be applied at home and in the community, helping participants achieve their personal goals and enhance their overall quality of life.
What We Offer:
- Independent Living Skills Training:
Practical training in everyday activities such as cooking, meal planning, budgeting, grocery shopping, and managing personal finances to support self-sufficiency. - Community Participation & Transport Skills:
Guidance on using public transport, navigating the community safely, and planning outings to increase confidence and independence outside the home. - Social & Communication Skills:
Support to develop social interaction, communication, and relationship-building skills, encouraging meaningful participation in social and community settings. - Household Tasks & Domestic Assistance:
Assistance with cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and functional living environment. - Home Maintenance Support:
Help with minor home tasks such as organizing spaces and light gardening to ensure a comfortable and manageable home. - Personalized Coaching & Structured Sessions:
